Prestoserve [Legato Systems Inc]

Prestoserve is an NFS accelerator that significantly enhances thethroughput and responsiveness of NFS servers. PrestoServe caches diskwrite operations, and efficiently stages and transfers data to theappropriate physical disks. It delivers at least 50 percent more NFSserver throughput by reducing the NFS server disk I/O bottleneck andincreasing NFS write speed. The result is a more powerful applicationenvironment, faster execution of numerous NFS operations, and increasedserver capacity.PrestoServe is a hardware/software version, available in both SBus andVMEbus versions. PrestoServe combines an SBus or VMEbus board, asophisticated UNIX driver, simple-to-use installation scripts, andspecialized administration and monitoring software.
